This song has been with me for some time now before it gained its shape as a harp arrangement. Many of us who miss their loved ones can relate to the lyrics:
- The water is wide, I cannot get over
Neither have I wings to fly
Give me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row, my love and I - A ship there is and she sails the sea
She’s loaded deep as deep can be
But not so deep as the love I’m in
I know not if I sink or swim
I hope you enjoy listening to this simple arrangement. And if you would like to learn to play it on the harp, the second part of the video includes a mini-lesson on this piece and some cool practice strategies!
