Rhythm exercises can help with many technical aspects of the pieces that you play, starting from your scales and arpeggios, through placing and jumps to bringing them up to tempo.
Their power lies in making some of your fingers play faster while taking more time on the others. By contributing to your fingers’ independence, they help you achieve more control and beautiful evenness of tone.
You can be incredibly inventive with rhythms, mixing and combining infinite possibilities for practice. Let’s take a look at just a few of them.
